Haaaa I’m exhausted but I got to keep trucking on. After all, thats pretty much the other 50% of the project. Tomorrow will be a continuation on the graphics.

I also change the window skin but I still want to change it to something that would match the overall style. It does look fine for the other window scenes. I guess I just have to adjust it so it looks better in the main menu. It would look better if I reduce the team to 4 but I like my five man team. I also made portraits for the menu screen but it came out all wonky due to the five man party size. It will be somewhat easy to make faces so I may save that for last after making the other characters. So I got some character portraits done for two characters. It is a bit embarassing since I ain’t that great at drawing. Well since I worked hard on it, I might as well show what I got done today. I definitely will change it for the final version of the game. Looking at my time frame, I probably will fallback on the preset maps idea considering how little time I have. I’m going have to work twice as hard if I want to get done by next week. Working on this made realize how much work I’m going have to do to get the graphics part done since I am using handmade animations, sprites, portraits, and skit portraits.

I’m still sitting on the idea but as of now I will go with the default.īut outside that train of though, there was one thing I ended up on focusing all day today and that was graphics. It will give monster parts a use outside of selling for money. So I though what if her stats are really low but you can raise them via monster parts.

At first I was going let her equip some items like accessories but I realize that slimes that digest everything they touch. So today I spent time thinking about an alternative to my slime character. Hopefully I will get the game out and if I do, I will release here. So with that, I hope everyone that read this development blog will continue to watch me. I will post blogs about my game every now and then but there won’t be as much progress as there was before. I will go back and practice my drawing or 3d modelling skills(which I will also post here). I probably will work on it for about 3 hours a night, slowly chipping away at it until its finish. That said, I will not work on it as intensely as I had for the last two weeks.

I’m also planning to make assets to be ready for next years contest. I’m going to put back all the cut content that I cut in hopes that I will make it in time for the contest. I am also going with my original story for the game. I am going to improve the graphics like I wanted to. Since I am no longer constrained by time, I will continue to work on this project. To finish it all by tomorrow midnight would require a team at the least. I’ve been pushing myself a bit too hard with these projects especially after what I had to do during the day. I feel really exhausted, my hands are sore and my eye is really bothering me. I basically had less than half the time that other people had to make this game.įor the last few days, I’ve been hard at work with the game whenever I can but due to various circumstance, I only worked on it for about a total of 12 hours over the whole weekend and those were mostly around late nights. Between finals and helping my family with variety of tasks, I barely had any time to work on the game. So here is the short version: I wasn’t able to get the game done for the indie contest.
